Peepers

May 18, 2009

He’s done!  I think Peepers is a great name for him because the eyes were the most challenging part.  My neighbor asked me if he could buy Peepers for his granddaughter’s 3rd birthday.  I like the idea of Peepers having a 3year old girl!  And it’s really not bad making a little extra money either.  I think I invested $4 in the project and he’s offered me $20.

Gloveletts!

March 14, 2008

How cute are these little hand warmers?!  I’m so proud!  Don’t you love the little flowers with the button centers?  I crocheted them yesterday but with one fatal mistake.  I ran out of yarn halfway through the second glove so, I went and bought more but, it was  a different dye lot.  Bummer!!   So, half of one glove and the two flowers are both slightly off color-wise.  Sad huh?

Well, that’s ok…I’ll just make some new ones!  Hahaha small successes in learning to read patterns!

I have brain block!

February 26, 2008

When I was a little kid my Great Grandma Rosie taught me to crochet.  She taught me to chain, single crochet, double crochet, and how to form shells.  I only used those stiches for things with straight sides like scarfs or blankets.

Now, I’m really starting to become interested in making differnet things so, I’ve been doing my research on the internet.  All you ladies out there with awesome crochet blogs should be very proud!!

My biggest issue is learning to read patterns.  First of all, they’re all in code!  Dang it, I have to learn a whole new language.  Next, it is frusterating because when I look at a picture of something I’d like to make I know how to form all those stiches but, I can’t figure out the patterns!

Why can I not wrap my brain around these things?  I’m trying people…don’t lose faith in me.  One day, I’m going to be reading patterns and creating fun things with the rest of you!
